Seven
outstanding lawyers and judges of color will be inducted
to the National Bar Association (NBA) Hall of Fame on August
8, 2003 at the National Bar Association 78th Annual Convention
and Exhibits, to be held at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside,
New Orleans, Louisiana. The Hall of Fame was inaugurated
in 1986 to honor those lawyers and judges who have been
licensed to practice for forty (40) years or more and who
have made significant contributions to the cause of justice.
This year's inductees are:

The Honorable Lolis E. Elie
Mark T. McDonald, Esq.
John O. Moss, Jr., Esq.
The Honorable James N. Reese
This
anniversary event allows NBA members to recognize those
who have by, through and within institutions in their communities,
states and this nation, extracted and demanded the greater
good for all. The men and women inducted into the Hall of
Fame join their colleagues whose courage, intellectual accomplishments,
professional achievements and community contributions deserve
the highest recognition.
The
NBA is the largest and oldest organization of attorneys
and judges of color in the world. The NBA was founded in
1925 by twelve (12) African American lawyers in Des Moines,
Iowa and today represents over 20,000 lawyers, judges, educators
and law students. .
