ANNUAL SUPREME COURT SWEARING-IN CEREMONY
The
NBA Women Lawyers' Division wishes to invite all members
of the NBA who have not been admitted to the Bar of the
U.S. Supreme Court to participate in its Annual Supreme
Court Swearing-In Ceremony on Tuesday, May 27, 2003.
This
Ceremony is held annually in an effort to enhance the posture
of African American lawyers as legal advocates and to increase
the number of minority lawyers who are fully equipped to
handle legal affairs for their clients before this nation's
highest court.
Applicant
must be members in good standing of their highest state
court bar for three years prior to admission and must have
their applications signed by two members of the U.S. Supreme
Court Bar. An application fee of $250.00 must be submitted
with the application. Completed applications are due
by April 17, 2003. You may request an application directly
from the National Bar Association's Headquarters by telephone,
mail or facsimile. The telephone number for the NBA Headquarters
is (202) 842-3900. You are encouraged to download the
application from the Supreme Court's website, which is
www.supremecourtus.gov.;
however, all applications for participation in the NBA Group
Swearing-in Ceremony must be submitted to the NBA office.
