	March 31, 2006 ALL REGIONAL DIRECTORS ARE ASKED TO COMMUNICATE THIS INFORMATION TO EACH OF THEIR AFFILIATES ASAP President Turner has asked me to lead the NBA Election Protection effort. Again we have partnered with the NAACP, The Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, People for the American Way Foundation and others in the struggle to ensure that every vote is protected. To that end we are organizing to assist New Orleans Parish voters in their APRIL 22, 2006 and MAY 20, 2006 mayoral elections. The NAACP has established 15 Voter Empowerment Centers in cities where there are a large number of New Orleans evacuees. The centers are located in: Baton Rouge, LA Dallas, TX Houston, TX Austin, TX San Antonio, TX Marietta, GA Stone Mountain, GA Atlanta, GA Memphis, TN Chicago, IL (WeWest sidend SoSouth sideocations) Jackson, MS Mobile, AL Little Rock, AL Los Angeles, CA THE NBA IS SEEKING AT LEAST 2 VOLUNTEER ATTORNEYS FOR EACH CENTER WHO WILL FIELD LEGAL INQUIRIES. TRAINING FOR THESE VOLUNTEER ATTORNEYS ON LOUISIANA ELECTION LAW IS SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 5, 2006 AT 4:00 PM (EST) VIA TELECONFERENCE. PLEASE IMMEDIATELY PROVIDE ME THE NAMES OF AT LEAST 2 ATTORNEYS WHO WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE TRAINING AND VOLUNTEER AT THE VOTER EMPOWERMENT CENTERS.
