WASHINGTON,
DC (January 26, 2010) -The American Bar Association (ABA),
will salute National Bar Association Executive Director Emeritus,
John Crump during its Spirit of Excellence Luncheon to be
held on February 6, 2010 at The Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin
Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Crump, who in August was inducted as the NBA's executive director
emeritus during its 84th Annual Convention & Exhibits, has
showcased his profound leadership skills to an organization
he views as an institution of change. The extension of this
vision is demonstrated through the annual Crump Law Camp,
a selective summer program, which grants high school students
the opportunity to become engaged in learning about the legal
profession and the American judicial system.
The
luncheon will be held in conjunction with the ABA's annual
Mid-Year meeting and will acknowledge Crump's service as founder
of the NBA's annual Crump Law Camp and as executive director
for over thirty years of the organization, which serves as
the oldest and largest national network of predominately African
American lawyers and judges. Furthermore, the presentation
during the annual luncheon will showcase the eminent leadership
of a man who has witnessed the evolution of an organization
committed to creating and diversifying opportunities within
the legal profession.
Founded in 1925, the National Bar Association is the nation's
oldest and largest national network of predominately African
American attorneys. It represents approximately 44,000 lawyers,
judges, law professors and law students and has over 80 affiliate
chapters throughout the United States and around the world.
The organization seeks to advance the science of jurisprudence,
preserve the independence of the judiciary and to uphold the
honor and integrity of the legal profession. For additional
