Ben Crump Sues Florida State Agencies For $40 Million After Death Of Teen

Washington, DC (June 2, 2006) …NBA lifetime member and past board of governors member Benjamin L. Crump is seeking more than $40 million in damages from the Department of Juvenile Justice and the Bay County Sheriff's Office on behalf of the family of Martin Lee Anderson, who died just hours after being manhandled by guards at a juvenile boot camp.

"A video proves that as seven guards punished Martin by kicking, punching, kneeing, choking and slamming him while they jammed ammonia tablets up his nose and covered his mouth, a nurse watched him slip in and out of consciousness," Crump said at a news conference. "These heinous, malicious and torturous treatments led to his death." (The Associated Press)

Crump is the co-founding partner of Parks & Crump, P.C., a personal injury law firm in Tallahassee, Florida. He is a graduate of Florida State University and Florida State University School of Law; and holds memberships in the Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter National Bar Association, Tallahassee Barrister's Association, American Bar Association, Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, NBA Civil Trial Lawyers Division, NBA Small Firms and Solo Practitioners Division, and Board of Directors for North Florida Legal Services.
